Buzz: The Flyers Have Interest In Roberto Luongo

8:42PM: Frank Seravalli of the Philly Daily News spoke with Holmgren and said “That made me chuckle. Safe to say they aren’t true. They have no basis or merit.”

8:26PM: According Montreal reporter Enrico Ciccone, the Flyers have interest in acquiring Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo.

James Duthie confirmed the Flyers interest but added, “Doesn’t mean they are going to get him. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll make an offer. But they’ve inquired. Could buy out Bryz in June.”

Adrian Dater of the Denver Post writes that Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is going for Luongo “big time.”

Earlier today, Sam Carchidi of the Philly Inquirer denied that the Flyers have interest in Luongo.

Despite Brian Burke being fired, the Maple Leafs are believed to still be interested in Luongo.

New Toronto GM Dave Nonis brought Luongo to Vancouver in 2006.

At the draft the Canucks reportedly asked for defenseman Jake Gardiner and Tyler Bozak for Luongo.
