Kris Newbury will likely play in his second game of the season for the Rangers tonight after being called up yesterday.
On what he said about being called up, he told the Rangers website, “It’s very exciting, I just want to bring some energy, make smart decisions and stay out of the box.
Newbury added, in the Daily News, “for me it’s just creating energy, if that means getting in on the forecheck, finishing my hits, moving my feet, getting pucks to the net, anything I can do to help change that obviously would be a big benefit.”
Chris Kreider, who raved about Newbury last week, said this morning, “you can learn a lot in the locker room and on the ice. He has such great poise and is just worried about playing hockey. He does so many little things along the boards, it’ stuff that Richie does a lot of, real cerebral guys like Step also. “
