• Boyle is available for the right price so that a spot on the top pairing can be given to Brent Burns.
• “I believe that the New York Rangers have talked to San Jose about him, they have interest in him but the question remains, ‘is there a fit?’

9:01PM: At ESPN.com, Pierre LeBrun reports that the Rangers have interest in San Jose defenseman Dan Boyle.

LeBrun says that the Rangers have been looking for a top-four defenseman who is right handed.

LeBrun also notes the connection that Boyle has with the Rangers since he played under John Tortorella and was a teammate of Brad Richards.
