Buzz: Linking Dan Boyle and the Rangers

At ESPN.com, Pierre LeBrun writes that the San Jose Sharks are approaching a time where they will need to hit the “reset” button with their roster and could begin to start moving some of their players.

One of those players is defenseman Dan Boyle, who LeBrun says is the “top-four, right handed d-man the Blueshirts could sure use.”

Boyle is signed through next season with a cap hit of $6.67 million.

He has four goals and eight assists in 25 games this season. He is on a pace to have 12 goals and 25 assists over an 80 games season.

Boyle is averaging 23:30 per game, has 20 hits, 34 blocked shots, nine of his twelve points on the PP and 1:20 on the PK a game.

There were rumors over the summer, that were denied in almost every case, that the Rangers and Sharks had talked about a Dan Boyle and Marian Gaborik trade.
