In the Dallas Morning News, Mike Heika writes that it’s doubtful that the Dallas Stars will shop Brenden Morrow but they will have to entertain the idea of trading him if teams call about him.
Morrow has a full-no trade clause but Heika writes “He might be ready for a fresh start, and the guess is that a team pursuing him could have realistic designs on a very long playoff run in 2012-13. That could be very appealing to a guy who has missed the playoffs the past four seasons.”
Morrow was teammates with Brad Richards in Dallas.
On Morrow, Heika writes “this is a player who scored 33 goals in 2010-11 and just turned 33. He is a physical presence who can go to the front of the net and score goals and the team could desperately use that presence on a team that seems more skill than grit. And, yeah, he’s been pretty strong, mentally, as well.”
