Read: Is Another Lockout Coming?

At The Hockey News, Ken Campbell writes that there is a lot of chatter in the “hockey industry” that the NHL will lock out it’s players on September 15th and then have them return to work at the end of November.

One of the big issues between the two sides is the division of hockey revenue of which the players have 57%. Stu Hackel and Jeff Klein write in the NY Times that dropping that down to even 56% would net the league $30 million more in revenue.

Donald Fehr told The Hockey News, “(The players) recognize they made enormous concessions in the last round of bargaining,” Fehr said. “And that is part of the backdrop that leads us into this round of negotiations. The players know what happened last time.”
