Last night on MSG, Ryan Callahan classified the Rangers shootout win over the Bruins as a “dirty road win” and while the team isn’t happy that they gave up a 3-0 lead in the third period, the Rangers came into Boston looking for two points and they left Boston with two points.
John Tortorella was asked how he felt about the Rangers win and said, “we get two points. That is the feeling you have. I don’t think we played that badly in the third period. I still thought we defended pretty well until the end. We get the two points and that is the most important thing.”
He added that he thought the Rangers played a good game but that there is still a lot of teaching that needs to be done.
Henrik Lundqvist said on MSG that he was happy with how the Rangers responded to losing their 3-0 lead and said that their response was “important.”
Marc Staal summed up the game, on MSG, by saying, “we won. You want to protect that lead. We didn’t panic in OT, we have a great goalie and we were able to close it up.”
Well, we got the win.. We almost let it slip, but in the end, all that matters are the 2 points, and we got it!
Time to head home.—
