The Rangers look for their fourth straight win tonight against the Islanders.
Before the win over the Bruins, John Tortorella spoke with Sam Rosen on MSG and explained why he thought things were turning around, “I think guys are just beginning to understand how hard you need to play to win in this league. We are not a real fancy hockey club, I think we have some quality athletes and some really good players but you need to have some grind to win in this league. I don’t think it has been in our game consistently, but in the past week or so we have shown a lot of tape on how to be successful and playing well along the boards. That is where our play has improved, along the boards.
Derek Stepan said during the Bruins game, “we are making simple plays.”
At ESPN.com, Pierre LeBrun writes, “after dropping their opening two games, the Rangers have now won seven of their last 10 games and are beginning to look like the Cup contenders we all thought they were.””
