Note: The Situation Heading Into Tonight

If the Rangers beat the Carolina Hurricanes in regulation, OT or shootout, the Rangers will clinch a playoff spot.

The Rangers need any combination of two points that they either gain over the next two games or that the Jets do not pick up tonight.

The Rangers and Hurricanes play at 7PM in Carolina.

Ottawa will have Erik Karlsson back in the lineup against the Capitals, who already clinched, and the Sens are in the same win-and-in situation as the Rangers. Ottawa has two more games after tonight.

The Senators and Capitals play at 7PM.

Winnipeg, one point behind the Rangers and Senators, end their season tonight against Montreal.

A Jets loss in regulation eliminates them from playoff contention.

If the Jets pick up one point and the Rangers and/or Senators both lose in regulation, the three teams will enter into a three-way tie for playoff spots. If the Jets only pick up one point and the Rangers and/or Senators both pick up at least one point, they will clinch a playoff spot.

The Jets and Montreal play at 8PM. Montreal has lost two straight and is still in a battle for the division lead and number two seed.
