Read: There Are Still Landmines That Need To Be Navigated

At CBC, Elliotte Friedman writes that it isn’t exactly smooth sailing toward a new CBA getting done and the league and NHLPA still have to navigate some tough roads before a new deal can be agreed on.

He says that the major issue is the NHL having patience with Donald Fehr as he tries to wait out the owners and pick up some last minute wins for the players.

Friedman says that some players feel as if an exhibition game or two before the regular season starts is necessary but he isn’t sure the owners want “anything to do with that.”
