Read: Predictions For The Next Couple Of Years In the NHL

At Sports Illustrated, Adrian Dater has 10 predictions for what will happen in the NHL in the year 2013.

He expects the NHL to EXPAND by two teams and collect expansion fees as a way for owners to make up for lost revenue and picks Seattle and Quebec City as the front runners to land the new teams.

Dater thinks that the combined expansion fees could total upwards of $400 million.

He also thinks that 2013-14 will bring new rules with it like the elimination of the trapezoid, power plays that continue even after a goal is scored and no longer awarding a point to a team that loses in OT or a shootout.
