9:48AM: At ESPN.com, Pierre LeBrun writes “Logic dictates a deal will get done, given what little separates both sides. But logic has been benched for long periods of this sordid game.”


9:24AM:In a post to twitter, Nick Cotsonika wrote “Now that we’re past deadline for 52 games, it would make little difference if they reached a deal today or in a week. And so we wait.”

Earlier this morning, Elliotte Friedman wrote at CBC that nothing will get done until the NHL imposed deadline of late next week but that nothing special will be accomplished by the two sides waiting a week to actually make the deal.

Friedman writes “You want to fight each other? Fine. You want to argue passionately for your positions? Fine. Get in a room and do it.”
