According to Cap Geek, if the Rangers decide to buyout Wojtek Wolski at the end of the season, the cap hit for next season will be $466,667.
His cap hit for the 2012-13 season would be $666,667.
Wolski has one year left after this one at $3.8 million.
…I know, he hasn’t even played a game yet and the buyout numbers are out, BUT, this is an affordable buyout if Wolski gets into John Tortorella’s doghouse and doesn’t get out. I hope it doesn’t come to that and Wolski finally fits the role of secondary scorer the team has needed/wanted for years, and is even affordable at $3.8 if he does succeed.
If he doesn’t work out, clearing more money to get Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan, Artem Anisimov, Brian Boyle, Michael Sauer, Matt Gilroy, Dale Weise, Pavel Valentenko, Brodie Dupont and maybe, just maybe, that Richards fellow so many people want.
Thanks to Joe H for sending this to me.
