Marty Brodeur said on MSG that the isn’t sure why his former teammate Mike Rupp shoved him in the third period.

“I didn’t do anything and I just looked at him and he was a little angry and I guess he wanted to hit somebody. It surprised me, but what are you going to do.”

More, HERE.

10:59PM: Pete DeBoer said on MSG, “You don’t like to see that obviously. Two teams battling it out, these things happen. This isn’t about John and I, so I don’t have anything to say about that.”

On whether the Rangers were looking for a fight, DeBoer said, “I don’t have a comment on that. Two teams with a lot at stake are battling to the buzzer. That is how I see it.”

11:09PM: John Tortorella said, “It probably shouldn’t have happened. None of that would have happened if we had just kept playing the game. I am not questioning the referee, I just didn’t think it was a penalty.”

Tortorella added that he isn’t concerned about any supplementary discipline for Rupp. He would also not comment on his screaming match with Pete DeBoer.

11:40PM: Tom Gulitti tweets, “Peter Harrold said Rupp may have made contact with his head, but it was probably because Rupp is tall and he is short.”
