Read: Jesper Fast’s Skills Suit A Smaller Rink

In March, following the end of his season in the SEL, Jesper Fast came to NY and took part in a practice so that Rangers management could take a look at him.

Fast ,22, was then sent down to Hartford and scored a goal in the only game that he played before getting injured.

In 47 games for HV71 in the Swedish Elite League, Fast had 18 goals and 17 assists.

Jeremy Drake writes about the SEL and said that Fast is quick and has great agility that he uses in all aspects of his game.

Jeremy said, “he uses his speed to his advantage when forechecking, getting up on the defence and breaking up play quickly. These skills make him a great fit to the North American style of hockey, as his style of play really suites the smaller rink. Fasth is also a natural player with a great hockey sense, he has an awareness of where his line mates are and uses his skills to create something out of nothing, with a nice move, crisp pass or a quickly released shot.”
