The 2014 Hockey News Pool Guide, which ranks Kristo as the Rangers 7th prospect, has him making the NHL in 2015-16.
- The 2013 Pool Guide ranks Kristo sixth and also projects him to make the NHL in 2015-16.
If Kristo were to reach his potential, he has the skills to be a Ray Whitney like player (30 goals, 40 assists) but a more realistic projection might be a 20 goal, 20 assist player. He needs to dominate at the AHL level, like he did in college, and use his skills to overcome his size. (Dobber Hockey)

Corey Pronman says that Kristo is a tough player to read and he expected more from him this past season because of his “natural abilities and age.” (ESPN Insider)
In a 2012 look at Kristo, Pronman writes that he is potentially a “high end skater” who can make plays but also play a “gritty” player who can kill penalties. (Hockey Prospectus)
He had 25 goals and 18 assists in 65 games last season and Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton said that they liked his game for being a first-year pro.
