News: Rangers Acquire Ryane Clowe

7:55PM: Pat Leonard writes in the Daily News that the conditional pick in 2014 is a second round pick if Clowe re-signs with the Rangers or the Rangers reach the Eastern Conference finals. It is a fifth round pick if neither of those things happen.

7:39PM the deal is now official

6:36PM: Nick Kypreos says that the Rangers and Clowe have agreed to parameters of a new deal and they will attempt to sign it soon.

6:33PM: Bob McKenzie notes that the Rangers will send their second round pick, Florida’s third round pick and a conditional second round pick.

6:30PM: Katie Strang tweets that Clowe is trying to mae arrangements so he will be in the lnieup tomorrow against Pittsburgh.

6:24PM: Pierre LeBrun tweets that Clowe has waived his no-trade clause and will be coming to the Rangers.

Bob McKenzie tweets that the two sides just need to complete the deal, but it should not be a problem.

6:03PM: The Rangers are about to acquire Ryane Clowe from the San Jose Sharks.

Bob McKenzie says that the the Rangers will send likely send a second round pick, a third round pick and a conditional second round pick if he re-signs.

  • Clowe is a UFA at the end of the season and has a cap hit of $3.625 million.
  • Nick Kypreos tweeted that while Clowe will go the Rangers as a rental, a new contract is expected to be worked out between the two sides.
