Stats: Is Marian Gaborik Due For Another Down Season?
At Sportsnet, Ryan Porth writes that based on his career, Marian Gaborik is due to follow up his 41 goal and 35 assist season with a season with a poor season.
He writes “The last four seasons in which he has played 65-plus games, Gaborik has scored at least 38 times. Each of those standout seasons have been followed up by unhealthy, inconsistent seasons in which he has averaged fewer than 22 goals.”

Adam Rotter: I see what the stats show, but it was only in 2010-11 where he wasn’t at least a point a game player following his big season. 57 points in 48 games in 2006-07 is quite good and he missed nearly the whole 2008-09 season due to hip surgery. Even so, Gaborik still put up 13 goals, and 23 points, in 17 games.
Unless he returns too soon or suffers another injury, I would fully expect Gaborik to be the same kind of point per game, or near point per game in the case of last season, player that has made him one of the elite scorers in the league.
