Buzz: The Blue Jackets Will Take Their Time In Deciding Whether to Extend Marian Gaborik

In the Columbus Dispatch, Aaron Portzline spoke with Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen who said that the team is not rushing to sign former Ranger Marian Gaborik to a contract extension.

He is signed through this coming season at $7.5 million and can then be an unrestricted free agent.

Gaborik was acquired by the Blue Jackets at the trade deadline for Derek Dorsett, Derick Brassard and John Moore.

He had three goals and five assists in 12 games with Columbus after being traded.
