Bent, hate to admit it cause i never liked the guy but you are spot on. Aboushi is clearly an upgrade over Winters and short term-long term I dont think Winters is a starting caliber guard in this league. he has had plenty of time to get his act together and its obvious to all he flat out stinks!

Dbrick mangold when do we have to start worrying about them breaking down? Seems like they are key pcs of our team but by the time we draft and get through learning curve we will be losing them.

Just reading between the lines a bit, Im really starting to believe that both Rex and Idzik are going to get one more year together. I dont think woody fires Idzik and i dont think woody lets idzik fire rex....

Im ok with this as long as they let  a vet be the QB, no more rookie QB starting, and they shore up the secondary and OL in draft and FA.

I think this team can compete with a lot of teams when they get competent QB play.

Amazing that when Idzik's guy aren't in the lineup, the play improves.

Amazing day by the D, offense dominated in the 1st QTR, then basically disappeared. But 4 TO's hides a lot of sins.  With a bye and 2 weeks to get ready, heal up , we could have something good here, the Buff and Miami games are big  and a 7-9 finish to the season could and should save Rex's job

Starting Harvin, Vick, JJ, Graham, and Aboushi are all moves that are all helping us turn the corner. Let's keep up the momentum!!

Aboushi - 2015 starting LG: yes or no?

For as good as the run game has been over all this season I think it could be league leading with stability being added to the QB position. Vick needs to protect the ball much better then he did while running and carrying it one handed.

O'line is doing their job...nice to see.

So basically benching all of Idzik's picks has turned this team from a zero to a hero?  That's encouraging.

Bent- There were I think 2 maybe 3 plays where Ivory was hit behind the line on runs right up the middle.  I recall one on 1st and goal from the 4 and maybe in the 4th qtr on a 2nd and 2.  I think he might have been stuffed in a similar way in the red zone on another drive. Did you notice these and who was at fault there?

@Brendan yes and bring in a solid RG.  i read and hear Iupati (sp?) mentioned a lot.

@Brendan Unless they draft or sign someone better that's a definite yes on that one! It better not be freak'n Brian Winters!

@Brendan I say yes. I like Colon a lot but maybe replace him with a younger vet while Dozier gets stronger? Iupati may be too expensive and we most likely need two starting corners from fa.

I wonder if Aboushi being a converted tackle helps his case, this being a passing league and all. Whatever we can get out his run blocking is a bonus.

@Brendan  So far for a guy who hasn't played much he seems to be getting better each game and taking the job for himself. Now if they can just get Willie to take a breath and stop the jumping before the snap drive killers we could have a decent guard combo next year.

@Brendan Yes, but solidify RG.  I've seen too many drive killers from Colon.

@Wilkershakes So far he's shown me enough to give him the job next year. Or at least give him the inside track in a competition.

@kniff @Brendan Yes. Seems like the entire OL has picked up since Aboushi came in.  I feel better about him now than i ever felt about Winters.

@t__k @Brendan Not to mention, its only a matter of time before Colon completely breaks down. But I would find a way to keep him on the roster just to handle fights/brawls.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan

Well, we can't count Aboushi then.  You have to discard the outliers to really get a scientific view of the data.

@jdb4 Winters replaced by Aboushi, who was brought in by Idzik. Geno replaced by Vick, who was brought in by Idzik. Nelson replaced by Decker/Harvin, both brought in by Idzik.

@jdb4 @williamg1 @maynard /boggle.  Why would you keep a HC who has no command of the game and is the ringleader of 4 bad years, an inept offense for 4 years, an average defense for 4 years, poor special teams 4 years, 3 OC in 4 years, 2 GM in 4 years, and no playoffs in 4 years.

You rex lovers are perplexing to say the least.  it just boggles the mind how you overlook so much failure from such a bad HC or is he a DC because if that's his HC ability then oh man.

Brendan
Brendan

@jdb4 You aren't keeping Rex and not Idzik. There's just no way he survives two GM changes in 3 years.

Wilkershakes
Wilkershakes

@Brendan  If Oday stays the starter and plays to a level like slauson, then how is Idzik perceived?  Still slammed I guess...

Wilkershakes

@Brendan   So far, i'd agree.  Just hope he continues to trend upward or even continue the level of play.

@jdb4 @t__k @Brendan Now were talking! i believe he has the most upside as he's strong and more athletic than any one else we have now!

@Brendan @jdb4 lol i mean sometimes it just goes whoosh over people's heads.  that's what hatred does to people.  it blinds them.

@Brendan @jdb4 You are probably the only one still defending Idzik. You are truly a loyal devout jet fan! I think your nuts, but i admire your loyalty.

It is pretty ironic that Jarrett was Tanny's last signing...

Probably meant the guys Idzik forced into the lineup.

Did idzik or was Rex trying to please his gm? We don't know.

Maybe they just looked better in practice and choke on the field. We'll never know.

Geno and Winters were flaming garbage feces for 1.5 years. Both were top picks. There's no way Rex wanted those fools out there.
