Stralman had four goals, three assists and was a plus 14 on the season. He had 75 hits and 42 blocked shots.
In the playoffs, Stralman played in 10 of the Rangers 12 playoff games as his shoulder was separated and he suffered facial fractures that kept him out of the lineup.
In 21 playoff games, Stralman averaged 21:06 per game.
After Stralman was hurt, Ryan McDonagh told the NY Post,“he’s such a mobile skater and that’s huge as a defenseman. He’s able to get a step on a guy and create some space and find a passing lane to get it up to our forwards. He’s been exceptional in the playoffs.”
John Tortorella said that the Rangers really missed Stralman after he was injured.
Stralman said of his season. “it was a step, absolutely. You wanna take small steps at least, I think I took one last year and I took one this year.”
He said that he felt he was more consistent and that he was beginning to feel as if his offensive game was starting to return.
