Alain Vigneault and Anton Stralman disagree about why he isn’t with the Rangers

StralmanAlain Vigneault was asked about former Rangers Anton Stralman earlier today and said that Stralman played a major role for the Rangers and big minutes against top players.

He then added, “every team has cap issues, and we had cap issues at that time.

Stralman though disputed what Vigneault said and mentioned that the salary cap had nothing to do with him not coming back to the Rangers. (Gross)

He said that contract talks were not “handled nicely” and that the Rangers should have had the “respect” to tell him they wanted to go a different way. (Gross)

Didn't the Rangers try to extend him during the season , at something like 3yrs/ 3m?

Stralman was the best player on the Bolts yesterday. By far.

Everyone complains about Boyle instead if stralman but Boyle has one year left and stralman has 3 more soling term that is a cap issue as nyr needed to sign staal

We also saved his career.

AV is right..in a non-cap world he probably would still be a Ranger.

Does this mean he is not necessarily over the moon to be a bolt!

So tired hearing this guy bitch and moan about what happened. He's like a bad ex. Build a bridge and get over it.
