This season Henrik Lundqvist is nominated for the Vezina Trophy for the fourth time in his career and the Hart Trophy for the first time.
Lundqvist has a record of 10 and 10 in the playoffs with a 1.82 goals against and .931 save percentage.
In the regular season, Hank was 39-18-5 with a 1.97 goals against and .930 save percentage.
Joseph Casciaro writes at Backhand Shelf that Lundqvist could go down as one of the best goalies in NHL history,
Would anyone really be surprised if the guy with a career GAA of 2.27 and a save percentage of .920 finishes with 500 wins, multiple Vezinas and multiple Hart nominations?
I know I wouldn’t. And I know that when you look at those possibilities, when you look at the type of season he had this year, and when you add a Stanley Cup ring (or multiple rings) to it, you’re looking at a resume that could stand up to some of the greatest goalies we’ve seen in our lifetimes.
Justin Bourne has more on this at Backhand Shelf
Adam Rotter: Hank is going to pass Eddie Giacomin next season for second on the Rangers all time wins list and he could catch Mike Richter (301) either at the end of the 13-14 season or beginning of 15-16. If he is able to stay healthy, break all the records and obviously win a cup, he will go down as the best Rangers goalie of all time. Regardless I think Henrik will be the last #30 the Rangers ever have.
