At ESPN Insider, Craig Custance got three opinions on Chris Kreider and what kind of player he can be in the “best case” scenario for his career.
Grant Sonier of ESPN.com told Custance that Kreider’s best case would be a second-line, 30 goal scorer. He calls Kreider a world class skater and with his mix of size and speed, he is “definitely a 30-goal scorer.”
A “well respected scouting director” told Custance that he likes what everyone else likes about Kreider, the whole package, and the way that Kreider attacks the net.
Jim Schoenfeld, Rangers assistant GM and assistant coach, told Custance, “I think he has the makings of a star, I really do.” Schoenfeld adds “The difference between the very good players and the great players is the great players play at a high level on a more consistent basis.”
