Read: Carl Hagelin Was Pretty Good Last Night

This season, Carl Hagelin has gone scoreless in nine of the Rangers first eleven games. Haglein has three goals and two assists on the season and all of those point have come in the two games the Rangers have played against Tampa Bay.

Last night, Hagelin has six shots on goal and it was the sixth time this season that Hagelin has had at least four shots on goal in a game.

He told ESPN NY that nothing in his game has really changed, saying that the puck is now going in when it wasn’t before. He added, “obviously, I didn’t get off to a great start the first three or four games, but since then I’ve had chances and I’ve been able to put them in and today they went in.”

John Tortorella said after the game that while he hasn’t been on the score sheet much, Hagelin is one of the Rangers leaders in creating and being involved with offense. Tortorella added that Hagelin needs to pressure himself to score some goals as he look step take the next step as an NHL player.

On MSG, Hagelin said that he wants to score more and step up as someone who adds secondary scoring.

On the game Hagelin played, Dave Maloney said on MSG,  “he was really good. It’s the same thing. When he is on top of his game he is quick on the puck. He does a lot of things really well when he uses his speed. He was out there two days ago with Kreider after practice working on their speed.

Hagelin said that if he doesn’t use his speed and move his feet on the ice he won’t be able to do anything in the offensive or defense zone.

Which undrafted or free agent player in training camp has the best chance to surprise and make the team ?

Also,  which TE's make the team and how does Chan Gailey plan on using these guys ?

Who is the most this years John Griffen for both Corey and Brian.

AKA who is someone under the radar who you think has the talent to make the team and you are rooting for?

Thanks

So the NYDN's Seth Walder just tweeted that there is a new writer for the NYDN at Jets training camp. So they have another leech in Florham Park  to suck the life out of the Jets in addition to himself and Mehta, to the detriment of Jets fans.

Now here's my question. 2 questions, actually.

1: Do other news organizations (calling the NYDN "news" is a stretch, I know) have as many covering the Jets?

2: Why does the NYDN need to have 3 reporters on the Jets beat? Does the 2 they have not already cover the Jets thoroughly enough/exploit them bad enough that they feel to add more people?

Probably not the kind of questions you were looking for, but you did ask for them....  ;)

Do you think the Jets will carry 4 Running backs this year and if not who is at the most risk to be cut?

While traveling to training camp, you decide to take a plane that takes a scenic route before landing in Newark in time to get to practice. Unfortunately, the plane crashes in the Andes Mountains, like in the movie Alive (or, you know, the actual people who this happened to that the movie was based on). There's no food, so in order to prevent starvation you must consume the human flesh of the people who died on impact. It's a terrible thing and we all get that you don't want to do it, but it's the only way for you to survive. Thankfully, unlike the rugby team from the movie, you don't know any of the victims personally. They are just people who also agreed to take a flight over South America for no reason. Just like you, except they are already dead, and you aren't, as long as you are willing to eat them.

Would you rather eat a dead baby, or would you rather eat an elderly person? Does gender play a role in your selection process? What if the meat turned out to be delicious?

"Leonard Williams is being compared to J.J. Watt." (ESPN)

Williams has said he likes to pattern his game after Watt....

What do you think?...is their anything in training camp that will allow us to see if this comparison is justified ?

How much opportunity does Petty have to show what his potential is? Or Heaps, for that matter.

Hope springs eternal.

@Brian_Bassett Be curious to see where Bowles is on the field. Rex used to work with defense and that was it. Hopefully Bowles is everywhere
