John Giannone tweeted last night, “Said hello to Marc Staal briefly as he met w/his family after game. Eye swelling/discoloration didn’t look bad at all. NO word on timetable.”
Andrew Gross tweeted that he saw Staal after the game, with his parents and brothers, and his face didn’t have any swelling, just some discoloration.
Ryan Callahan told Gross that just having Staal around the rink gave the team a boost.
Marc’s parents and brothers gathered at his apartment on Sunday night for a dinner of potatoes and meatballs.
Eric told Ranger Rants that Marc is in better spirits as he starts to feel better, but his vision is not 100% and it will take some time.
Eric added, “He’s in a positive mind set. Right from the beginning, I talked to him the next morning, he was in pretty good spirits. It’s an unfortunate situation, it was unlucky, he didn’t see it coming. That’s life. You move on and he’s doing the right things in that respect. He’s going to be a good player. I’m sure when he gets back it won’t take him long to get right back to where he was.”
Jordan told Ranger Rants that there is no timetable for Marc to return and he still has some fractures that need to heal.
Jordan also said that he believes Marc will be able to play again this season
