It was reported last week that the Rangers could have interest in Teemu Selanne if he becomes available closer to the trade deadline.
Selanne has been told that he is untouchable and told the Globe and Mail that he doesn’t want to leave Anaheim and still thinks that the Ducks can make a run at the playoffs.
“This is almost like a very familiar situation. We are always behind the eight-ball at Christmas and we start climbing. Hopefully, this is the case too. If this type of team makes the playoffs, that confidence, that building … who knows? You never know. That’s a new world. That’s a new hockey world then.”
Anaheim is 8-1-1 in their last ten and are 12 points out of eighth place.
