Note: Former Rangers Placed On Waivers To Open Up Spots For Other Former Rangers

3:46PM: Gomez and the Sharks officially agreed to a one-year deal worth a pro-rated $700,000.

12:12PM: According to Darren Dreger, the San Jose Sharks have placed Tim Kennedy on waivers with the intent of signing former Ranger Scott Gomez.

Kennedy never played with the Rangers but was signed by them in August of 2010 and played more than half a season with the Whale.

Kennedy was traded in 2011 as part of a deal that landed the Rangers Bryan McCabe.

Dreger also notes that former Ranger Jeff Woywitka has been placed on waivers by the Blues to open up a spot for former Ranger Wade Redden.

Woywitka signed with the Blues this past summer. He was claimed by the Rangers off of waivers at the start of last season.
