Original Post: Darren Dreger tweets that teams who are interested in Dustin Brown are aware that it may take a big package to lure the Kings Captain out of LA.
Dreger says that a quality defenseman and a secondary scorer are part of a package that could land Brown.
He adds “he is worth it.” Brown is signed for two more seasons at $3.175 million.
Bob McKenzie lists the Rangers as a team with a high amount of interest in Brown.
Why trade Brown? IMO, LAK like Brown as “player,” not as enthused about Brown as captain. IMO, only matter of time til Mike Richards gets C.

In my opinion, Brown is the guy to get. He isn’t the scorer that Rick Nash is, but he is another Ryan Callahan who would fit in perfectly with the Rangers and add another potential 25 goal guy to the team. I would still be hesitant to move any of the young defensemen because I think they are so integral to the Rangers success and future, but if they can find common ground on a deal for Brown it would be a huge move for the Rangers.
