At ESPN Insider, Craig Custance lists out the top 50 free agents and lists the Rangers Brandon Prust 48th on the list.
He calls Prust “nearly the ideal John Tortorella forward” and someone who fits so well into the Rangers identity.
Custance says that if his contract demands aren’t high, Glen Sather should bring him back.
80% of readers said that they would be happy to bring Prust back on an identical deal to the one that Gregory Campbell signed in Boston, three years and $1.6 million per year.
Prust has earned $3.1 million in his career.
Adam Rotter: I think that Prust will be back and the contract will be very similar to Campbell’s and the one that Brian Boyle signed last year. He is an important guy in the locker room, on the bench and on the PK. He has no fear and plays hurt constantly. Prust isn’t the kind of guy that you want to lose.
