Did they get Harvin out of the building without him cutting someone himself?

Can people please stop the "Skrine is worse than Wilson" stuff? It's asinine and wrong.

Brendan
Brendan

@fatrex Yes, it is.

Kyle Wilson had a -4.6 grade in 320 snaps.

Buster Skrine had a -6.3 grade in 1152 snaps.

I hope I don't have to finish this exercise to prove my point.

Edit: Oh, and Skrine did it against #1's and #2's, Wilson did it against the slot receivers he faced.

Brendan
Brendan

@fatrex No, I'm saying Skrine is a startish player with potential to be a full starting-level player. Wilson doesn't have that.

@Brendan @fatrex and using the same rating system patterson was better than cromartie.. stop listening to concocted states and watch football.. this isnt madden   skrine is horrid.

Brendan
Brendan

@Monty Except Peterson (not Patterson) shadows #1's. His grade comes against #1's while Cro's (for the most part), isn't. This is why we always say PFF + context. Never just the stats.

Monty

@Brendan @Monty but the grades you just used were thier ratings and thier ratings are baloney.. if you could say skrine covered welker and shut him out I would say maybe your right but using pff stats as the entire basis of your opinion is wrong

@Brendan @fatrex What indication does a -6.3 rating give you about potential in a 4th year player? Wilson was rated better with little help from safeties.

“Bus is a guy that really came on for us, and it’s one of those things where he could go out and get blown away in the market,” Browns head coach Mike Pettine said on Monday. “We have parameters for where we are. You always set thresholds for players. We certainly feel that Bus is the right player, but for us it certainly also has to be the right price.”

@Brendan If Skrine went to another team: "Oh my God. Why didn't the Jets sign him?!?!?! What are they doing???"

Pats showing interest in Harvin.  That should eliminate them in the Revis chase.

Move over Danny Woodhead, Tebow,  and other ex-Jets .Hey, maybe they'll sign Vick?

bradysucks
bradysucks

Harvin will be great with Tom Brady

But he'll get injured

The guy simply isn't durable

Still Harvin, Gronk, & Edelman is formidable in the passing game

@bradysucks

Harvin is talking to a number of teams and is checking in with Buffalo first.

rstysanchz

@Lloyd Jay Reife raiders also showing interest in harvin...they have more cap space and might overspend to help out their young qb

bradysucks

The Skrine signing is baffling

Basset hates the move

The guys at Gang Green Nation hate it

Many regulars here including me don't get it

Just gotta hope that Bowles's reputation for finding out what guys are good at and using them that way is true. Hopefully Bowles knows how to minimize Skrine's weaknesses in pass coverage

Now bringing back Revis and getting good play and durability from McDougal or Millner becomes essential. I hope they aren't busts

bradysucks
bradysucks

He's getting paid starter money

But that doesn't necessarily mean he starts if Millner/McDougal or a draft pick this year step up

fatrex

@bradysucks He's going to play in the slot to replace Kyle Wilson if/when we masturbate on a sheet of paper and have revis sign it.

bradysucks

He is worse than Kyle Wilson many people think

fatrex

@bradysucks To be worse than Kyle Wilson, he would have to actively try to be bad, but he's at least comparable.

Read what they wrote about him on gang green nation..

It's not feel good reading

metsjetsdu

rumor is 3 years 48 mil with 40 guaranteed on the table for revis , pats were somewhere in the 30's on the guaranteed money

fatrex

@juunit @Disgruntled Jets Fan @metsjetsdu @fatrex It's just such a Jets move, the year after they drafted Sheldon they could have easily signed revis and pulled off one of the greatest coups in NFL history, they would have essentially taken Tampas first rounder in exchange for rehabbing the best player the franchise has generated in decades, and then resigned him! But what happens? this player goes to our biggest rivals, wins a super bowl and leverages that success into a ridiculous contract that we're a year late in offering. It's madness.
