In a series of tweets, Nick Cotsonika of Yahoo wrote that he appreciated hearing comments on the lockout made by Jaromir Jagr and Mark Recchi because they are players who are also owners.
Recchi owns part of the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL while Jagr bought his hometown team in the Czech League from from his father.
He said that hearing from guys who have seen both sides means a lot more than the “one-sided screamers.”
Cotsonika adds that it would be great to hear from former players who are now on the management side and dealt with the recent lockouts. People such as Mario Lemieux, Brendan Shanahan, Steve Yzerman, Mark Messier along with former agents turned general managers like Mike Gillis of the Canucks.
Adam Rotter: How about Chris Chelios? Chelios is an Executive Adviser to Detroit GM Ken Holland and didn’t exactly have the nicest things to say about Gary Bettman during the 1994-95 lockout.
