Read: A GM and an Agent Should Be Involved Today (Update)

Adam Rotter:If there is some progress that comes from today’s meeting, the next one should involve a Ken Holland or Lou Lamoriello on the owner side and a Pat Brisson or Don Meehan on the player side. They are the guys who came up with the front-loading contracts and surely they can get creative with other contracting rights.

11:50AM: Elliotte Friedman writes at CBC that if the people in the room today can’t get it going, it’s time to bring in the General Managers and agents “If not, it’s time for the Steve Yzermans, the Joe Nieuwendyks, the Doug Wilsons, the Jim Rutherfords, the Ken Hollands, the Dean Lombardis, the Don Baizleys, the Don Meehans, the Pat Brissons, the Mike Liuts (you see where I’m going here) to take over. Those are the people who really deal with the CBA on a day-in and day-out basis. Bettman doesn’t trust the GMs or the agents, but they do have one important skill — they’re dealmakers.”

geno thinks a coaching change would be good.  i think a QB change would be great.

jeez, keep rex and sign some vets, that is a cake walk schedule.

Anyone they hire is going to look good against that schedule.

Why give fans false hope like EVERY TIME PREVIOUSLY this dumb*** team cleans house?

2015 Good - 2016 disappointment - 2017 team sucks - 2017 offseason - fire everyone

STOP THE INSANITY!!!

I can't wait to see Odell Beckham score 2 TDs on us.

It's a soft scehdule, except that Miami and the Bills have improved, so the Jets can go 5-11 or 6-10 if they improve.

Well if the Jets don't do well next season, I'm pretty sure as far as strength of schedule is concerned, the jets would have no problem getting the 1st pick in the 2016 draft. I doubt they pick first though, but if they did and we miss out on Winston and Mariota, the Jets can get Hackenberg or Cook in 2016.

With next season's schedule and last season's effort the Jets would have made the playoffs for sure. Rex can find a way to win enough games with this schedule unfortunately he won't be with the Jets and the Jets will start off fresh, but with the talent already on the roster minus some dead wait and some solid contributers added and Jameis Winston, I can see them going to the post season, Rothlisberger took his team to the superbowl as a rookie and people compare Winston to him, there can be good reason to be optimistic for next season, all depends on what Woody will do, how hard he will push to get the best Football minds working for him.

Wow -- --- 10 games where the Jets are not a true ROAD TEAM -- That must be an all-time record in the NFL!!

If we have a solid offseason, i see more W's than L's

A lot of variables that are untold right now so we have to wait and see.

Looks fine until they let us know which games will be on short rest and when they bye is, etc.

Playing in London week 4, in Oakland probably later in the year, and very possibly on Thanksgiving, are not good things.

Easy schedule. Get one of the top qbs lockup a good coach and his own brand new regime. He will prob keep Dunbar because he has been terrific. Switch the scheme up to 4-3 to really give Mo and Sheldon some great opportunities.

Can only go up from here guys!

We have a much kinder schedule on paper than last year.  Things can change but we certainly will have a realistic chance to do well if we have productive off season.

Which remains to be seen.

if we only win three games next year one of them better be against the Giants!

Wow…

Those are a lot of lousy teams the Jets fans are gonna have to shell out PSL money for…

@Brian_Bassett know a lot can change but next year schedule is easiest jets have had in years - figures it's when they start rebuilding

Who is the QB? Kind of an important position when picking wins and losses. If you know then you are a genius!

@ijets 2014-2015? Hmmm. They don't play any games next year in 2014.

Anyway, looks like fun though. Let me try!!!

@ijets Did you seriously just do this without knowing who the GM, coach, QB and half the players on the roster are going to be?

Kyle Ely

@ijets I didn't know it was possible to go 5-12. 5-11 or 4-12 maybe but 5-12 wow

Damn, not a single division win? All depends on what the Jets do in the offseason/draft. Too early to tell. We do have a sweet home schedule though.

The way the NFL screwed this Jets this season. It's probably gonna be the following.

1-giants (L) Giants will be motivated

2-@Patriots (L)

3-Colts (L)

4-Cowboys (L))

5-Eagles (L)

6-Patriots (L) on short week Thursday

Start is 0-6 and eliminated early like this year.

@JCuratola3

AMEN! We need to go 4-3 with the players we have. Coples looking petty good with his hand on the ground. Coples, Harrison, Richardson, and Wilkerson would be one of the better front 4's in the league.

Also, please keep Pryor @ SS.

Imagine the sea of empty seats if the Jets still suck next year? Lousy Jets vs. NFL's lousiest other teams? Ooooh.

If I were the NFL, I'd have packed as many playoff teams into this field as I could just to help out a sure to be struggling owner next fall/winter.

News flash, the jets have been in rebuild mode for 3 years. Idziks draft set them back.

@Brendan @ijets what about if macdougal and milliner can aactually stay healthy... that could be a possible big thing.... or is it time to give up on milliner in your opinion

@Brendan @ijets YES

it will be a pleasant surprise for a better season.

we are in rebuilding mode Dog.

Brendan
Brendan

@dabronx Pryor has been playing FS pretty much all season. That's his furture.

McGeorge
McGeorge

@Matt Ymbras @Brendan @ijets Miliner and McDougle can be a solid pair of corner backs.  And Geno can become a good QB.  Amaro and Pryor will be very good next year.  And I will win the lottery and get a flying pony.

Brendan
Brendan

@ijets Rebuilding can be done in an offseason in the NFL.

The team isn't going to be as bad as it was this year, not by a long shot.

dabronx
dabronx

@Brendan @dabronx It shouldn't be, IMO. Dude can be an enforcer. Coverage was never his forte. Don't agree with management on that call. He should be Dawan's eventual replacement. We need a better coverage ball hawk FS.

McGeorge
McGeorge

@Brendan @ijets No it can't.  This team stinks, it's going to take a few years at least, unless they get super lucky (i.e. Russel Wilson in the 3rd round and Richard Sherman in the 5th,  or Tom Brady in the 6th)

>>The team isn't going to be as bad as it was this year, not by a long shot.

Meaning they will go 4-12, and improve their wins by 33%?

Next years schedule is easier, they can go 5-11.  They still stink.

Brendan
Brendan

@dabronx His range is phenomenal, though. Rex always like to use safeties that are "dual-purpose" in that they can play either position. It's easier to find a serviceable SS to play the run than it is to find someone who can patrol up top (which I think this season should have proven). Grooming Pryor, who has the ability to be like an Earl Thomas on this team, to be the team's top safety is worth a year of growing pains. He's flashed some of that range lately, so hopefully his little benching and meeting issue kind of snapped him into form.

He can be a very good FS, he has good football instincts he just needs to learn and develop the film and behind-the-scenes aspect of his game. He knows how to hit people, that's not going away.

Pablo Bruno
Pablo Bruno

@Brendan @dabronx  but but but but what about Antonio Allen, how has he fallen off the radar, he gets no love, Rex abused him having him play corner and then when he couldn't do it, just kick him to the curb? Last season he showed he can be an emerging Safety, I thought Allen and Pryor would be an excellent tandem, they would compliment each other pretty well.

dabronx
dabronx

@Brendan @dabronx I agree with range but he is out of his natural position. I hope I am wrong and he develops into a stud FS.
