Read: A GM and an Agent Should Be Involved Today (Update)

Adam Rotter:If there is some progress that comes from today’s meeting, the next one should involve a Ken Holland or Lou Lamoriello on the owner side and a Pat Brisson or Don Meehan on the player side. They are the guys who came up with the front-loading contracts and surely they can get creative with other contracting rights.

11:50AM: Elliotte Friedman writes at CBC that if the people in the room today can’t get it going, it’s time to bring in the General Managers and agents “If not, it’s time for the Steve Yzermans, the Joe Nieuwendyks, the Doug Wilsons, the Jim Rutherfords, the Ken Hollands, the Dean Lombardis, the Don Baizleys, the Don Meehans, the Pat Brissons, the Mike Liuts (you see where I’m going here) to take over. Those are the people who really deal with the CBA on a day-in and day-out basis. Bettman doesn’t trust the GMs or the agents, but they do have one important skill — they’re dealmakers.”

Looks fine until they let us know which games will be on short rest and when they bye is, etc.

Playing in London week 4, in Oakland probably later in the year, and very possibly on Thanksgiving, are not good things.

Easy schedule. Get one of the top qbs lockup a good coach and his own brand new regime. He will prob keep Dunbar because he has been terrific. Switch the scheme up to 4-3 to really give Mo and Sheldon some great opportunities.

Can only go up from here guys!

We have a much kinder schedule on paper than last year.  Things can change but we certainly will have a realistic chance to do well if we have productive off season.

Which remains to be seen.

if we only win three games next year one of them better be against the Giants!

Wow…

Those are a lot of lousy teams the Jets fans are gonna have to shell out PSL money for…

Cripes!!!!

@Brian_Bassett know a lot can change but next year schedule is easiest jets have had in years - figures it's when they start rebuilding

@ijets Did you seriously just do this without knowing who the GM, coach, QB and half the players on the roster are going to be?

@ijets I didn't know it was possible to go 5-12. 5-11 or 4-12 maybe but 5-12 wow

Damn, not a single division win? All depends on what the Jets do in the offseason/draft. Too early to tell. We do have a sweet home schedule though.

@JCuratola3

AMEN! We need to go 4-3 with the players we have. Coples looking petty good with his hand on the ground. Coples, Harrison, Richardson, and Wilkerson would be one of the better front 4's in the league.

Also, please keep Pryor @ SS.

Imagine the sea of empty seats if the Jets still suck next year? Lousy Jets vs. NFL's lousiest other teams? Ooooh.

If I were the NFL, I'd have packed as many playoff teams into this field as I could just to help out a sure to be struggling owner next fall/winter.

@Brendan @ijets YES

we are in rebuilding mode Dog.

@dabronx Pryor has been playing FS pretty much all season. That's his furture.

@ijets Rebuilding can be done in an offseason in the NFL.

The team isn't going to be as bad as it was this year, not by a long shot.

@Brendan @dabronx It shouldn't be, IMO. Dude can be an enforcer. Coverage was never his forte. Don't agree with management on that call. He should be Dawan's eventual replacement. We need a better coverage ball hawk FS.

@dabronx His range is phenomenal, though. Rex always like to use safeties that are "dual-purpose" in that they can play either position. It's easier to find a serviceable SS to play the run than it is to find someone who can patrol up top (which I think this season should have proven). Grooming Pryor, who has the ability to be like an Earl Thomas on this team, to be the team's top safety is worth a year of growing pains. He's flashed some of that range lately, so hopefully his little benching and meeting issue kind of snapped him into form.

He can be a very good FS, he has good football instincts he just needs to learn and develop the film and behind-the-scenes aspect of his game. He knows how to hit people, that's not going away.

@Brendan @dabronx I agree with range but he is out of his natural position. I hope I am wrong and he develops into a stud FS.
