Read: The Three Types Of Owners and Which Group Is Pushing The Lockout

At CBC, Elliotte Friedman says that the NHL owners can be put into three different groups.

One group is the owners who want to play, another is a group in the middle who Friedman says “want a better collective bargaining agreement but recognize not playing is worse” and the third group is the hard line owners.

Friedman thinks that the final group, the hard line owners, are comprised of the Boston Bruins, the Islanders, the Panthers, Ducks, Blue Jackets, Coyotes, Blues, Capitals and Stars.

In terms of home attendance for those teams listed above, the Bruins ranked 9th, in a tie with the Rangers and six other teams at 100%.

The Islanders ranked 27th (81.3%), the Panthers ranked 23rd (86.6%), the Ducks ranked 24th (86.4%), Columbus ranked 28th (80.8%), Phoenix ranked 30th (72.5%), St. Louis ranked 19th (98.2%), the Capitals ranked 6th (101.3%) and Dallas ranked 29th (76.8%).

Andy Strickland writes at True Hockey that if the players could reach across the table and grab somebody, they would likely pick Jeremy Jacobs, owner of the Bruins, over Gary Bettman.

The only way I'd be okay with Rex losing his job as HC, is if Idzik could talk him into the DC job. That would make him a genius in my book.

We could get a new coach, keep our coordinators, and keep paying Rex his HC money.

Idzik stuck with his system, knowing that 2015 and beyond was the target.

Obviously he hoped to keep it competitive in the interim but had quite a bit of bad luck.

There's absolutely no way to blame anyone but Idzik for this, but this was a rebuild so it was really to be expected

Everyone said they were going to be patient, and wanted the team built right.

We see how much patience Jet fans have.

The only way Idzik should be blamed is if he throws anyone under the bus instead of just reminding people that Rome wasn't built in a day.

When's the last time Dee Milliner actually had a full week of practice?? Next time we have a top ten pick, can we please put more credence into "injury prone".....

Thanks so much! Keep up the good work!

what kind of train wreck can we expect this week? Broncos 30 Jets 10 would be good for the Jets after last week

How does Josh Bush manage to get hurt without ever seeing the field?

If Rex goes, so should Idzik

Oh, look: Josh Bush. Remember him?

@a57se No, he did play on Sunday.  Was in the mix on specials.

@Dante Bordieri Literally everyone had him as their #1 CB. He was mocked in the top 5 in a bunch of mock drafts. Football players get injured.

@Dante Bordieri Obviously not, check out the extreme reach they made in the third this year

@jdb4 who is gonna hire the next HC if Idzik is not there? if he brings Seatle's OC to be the new HC I would not mind, and make Rex the highest paid DC

Ya gotta luv "draft savvy"... Liked the pick....in the fifth or sixth rd......like where most in the know had him ranked..... I know, I know....a mysterious team was desperately trying to trade up and nab McDougale in the third...... Yeah sure.... That's known as playing the Jets into a panic pick.... Jet's play draft checkers in a game of chess....

@MikeFrancesser I think he's best known for saying he's going to follow Ed Reed around like a puppy.

We haven't really talked about it much. But I think we need to overhaul the scouting department along with getting a new GM.

It's not like we were consistently finding great talent with Tannenbaum either.

I think we've got bad GMs getting bad information.

fatrex

@Dante Bordieri It's a perfect example of a gm thinking he's smarter than everyone else. He's obviously not. If that arrogance doesn't change, he's going to have a really short career.

@UncleJoesFunnyFarm That is clearly a spam bot of some kind, I wasn't going to click anything. I just want to know how the hell it ended up on here if it wasn't a reply to the tweet for this article.

Didn't Idzik bring in a bunch of personnel guys after the 2013 draft?

@juunit @Dante Bordieri

I agree...that's why we need a strong personnel guy as a GM...there are plenty of Cap guys you can hire to keep that stuff straight.

Joe Namath, the last Jet that actually delivered a Super Bowl got crushed on this blog (a buffoon, a drunk etc) for honestly pointing out that he saw Geno do nothing particularly well, whether it was throwing the ball or running it....

Once Again:

How many bad games by Geno, bad draft picks, lack of proper salary cap use in addressing needs, dumb penalties, horrible game management, poor player evaluation, etc will be needed before observations deemed "negative", "impulsive", and "pessimistic"...become "accurate" from guys like Joe Namath. Joe Klecko, Ray Lucas...(you know, guys that actually played for the Jets)??

Just curious....

.......maybe it's time to give credit where it's due....

I agree...the difficulty on this Blog is some people think fans should be mindless followers of the franchise like Pom Pom girls or cheerleaders instead of actual informed human beings who have enough critical reasoning skills to sincerely question the decisions made by the front office, scouting and coaching staffs.

@Brendan @Dante Bordieri

Oh, I don't know.... Til the Old Jets boys get some props.... Just like the new jacks luv what Mo and Sheldon do (as do I), the older regime bleeds Klecko, Namath, Lucas( more as a disciple of Parcells).... I take offense when these old cats get disrespected, been thru too many wars with em....

They seemed to have called it right, no?

@Dante Bordieri

Klecko called Coples a guy who looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane and he's been a beast all season long.

That's the only "old timer" opinion I have personally criticized this year and it was wrong.

Just to appease you though, I'd like to apologize for all the things I didn't say.

a57se

@Bent @Dante Bordieri

First you are misquoting Klecko and IIRC, you even said there are plays where it appears Coples takes off.

Dante Bordieri
Dante Bordieri

@Bent @Dante Bordieri Perhaps Klecko sparked Mr. Clothesline, who has been popping up in games more... The book on him is inconsistency... Let's see if the motor is still running in December............. Klecko's ran non-stop.... As good as Mo has been(and he's very good), I believe he has topped out at about ten sacks.........Mr Klecko topped out at twice that amount (20) and was a beast against the run, hence my fondness and defense....

@Dante Bordieri @Bent

Klecko was an awesome player, no arguments from me there.

If Coples or Mo can be anywhere near as good as him, we are very lucky.

Hanknaples

@Bent @Dante Bordieri

We will never know if Coples can be as good as interior defensive lineman as Klecko because we have Richardson log-jamming all the effort put out by Harrison and Wilkerson. I will say this Coples is the only defensive lineman who can get consistent penetration inside and is fast enough to crush the pocket which cannot be said of Richardson and is possibly faster at getting to the quarterback than Harrison or Wilkerson.
