Recap: Henrik Lundqvist’s Post Game Thoughts

On MSG, Henrik Lundqvist made the following comments:

  • On whether there is satisfaction getting at least one point: “Not right now. We are disappointed. Tough start, but we came back and that was big. overall we have enough chances to win this game but I only stopped 2 of 4 in the shootout and I need to do better. With Ovechkin I thought I had him but I didn’t get the stick down.”
  • On a save he made when it was 2-0 Caps: “If they scored the next goal I knew it would be a tough night. Fourth line came out and played really well all night for us.”
  • On the Rangers starts and: “Maybe we should talk less about it and just go out and play because it is so hard to come from behind.”
  • On the shot that hit him in the helmet: “It was a hard shot. I ended up on my side and hoping for a whistle, but I am fine.”
  • On the next three games: “We just have to focus on each game as a playoff game, put in as much as energy and focus on every shift. There is no other way to do this. We are in a really tough spot and we cant’ rely on a few guys, we need everyone to step up here and play their best hockey.”
