Read: Where Is The Rangers Identity?

Last night, in the Rangers loss to the Flyers, the Rangers blocked 15 shots and had 20 of their shots blocked by the Flyers.

At ESPN NY, Katie Strang writes that after a season where the Rangers defined their identity behind “an unrelenting defense and a hard-nosed lunch-pail mentality,” they have been “uncharacteristically passive” through the first four games of the season.

Strang writes that the Rangers aren’t yet having a crisis over losing their identity, but questions have started to pop up about how willing the Rangers are to play that style again.

Taylor Pyatt told Strang that it’s up to everyone to step up their game and excel in all the “simple details” that made the Rangers a hard team to play against and successful last season.
