Read: Throwing Coaching Out The Window

Last night against the Penguins, Derick Brassard and John Moore arrived at Madison Square Garden around 15 minutes before warmups and met all of their teammates while in the process of getting dressed.

Ryane Clowe flew from San Jose to New York on the red-eye the night before, arrived in the morning and took part in the morning skate. In total, Clowe estimated the amount of time he slept since getting on the plane to be an hour and a half.

In the game, Clowe had two goals and an assist, Moore had a goal and Brassard had a goal and three assists.

When asked about their performance after the game and how they were able to come in with an immediate impact, John Tortorella said on ESPN Radio, “it throws coaching right out the window. Sometimes we do too much of it. All of them played very well.”

Brassard said after the game that sometimes a player plays his best when he doesn’t have to worry about anything. He added that everyone on the team made him feel very comfortable.

Ryane Clowe described the game asĀ “crazy” and “wild”and a situation where you just go out and play.
