On the post game show on MSG last night, Ryan Callahan said that even with the defensive struggles and a pace in the second period that was a little more back and forth that the team would like, there was a positives to take out of the game.
Callahan said, “I don’t think our whole game wasn’t that bad. Something we need to realize is that when you aren’t getting wins and bounces, it’s easy to put it on yourself and get down but there is a lot of good to take out of the game tonight. If we keep playing that way we will win some games.
He then repeated, “there are a lot of good things that we need to take out of this game.”
John Tortorella said on MSG, “If we get some people back and we have that kind of effort, and some of the things we did correctly, we will be on our way.”
Tortorella said that the Rangers gave a good effort tonight and there are a lot of positives that he will show them during their film sessions.
On the game in general, Henrik Lundqvist said, “I thought we played really well, especially in the second half. The fourth goal is something I am going to think about for the next 24 hours. I think we did a lot of good things and we just need to stay positive. It’s definitely a step in the right direction.”
