Read: Patience Was The Key Last Night

Following the Rangers win over the Maple Leafs last night, where the Rangers were down heading into the third period, Henrik Lundqvist said “We deserved this win. We played such a good game from start to finish.”

The Rangers were out-shooting the Leafs 25-9 heading into the third period and Marian Gaborik said on MSG that while the Rangers were struggling to score in the early part of the game, they knew the goals were going to come, “we were confident. It was a great win. You could see confidence in the room. We were confident we were going to score.”

Marc Staal remarked, “the patience that we showed was big. Guys weren’t really frustrated. Guys weren’t slamming sticks We knew we were playing better than we had. We just had to find a way to start putting them in and we did.”

Lundqvist added, “I thought as the game moved on we were better and better. We needed to be patient. I am happy that we kept playing smart.”

John Tortorella said that the Rangers just needed to keep playing and the breaks would come, “I thought we were playing well and it was a matter of staying with it. We just needed to keep on playing our game.”

He added, “I’m glad we won. I’m glad the way we won. We didn’t lose our composure.”
