Last night on MSG, Ryane Clowe told John Giannone that the Rangers 8-4 win over the Sabres was a strange game with the Rangers getting a good amount of bounces to go their way.
Brad Richards, on MSG, called it a”weird game.”
Richards added, “It’s pretty obvious that we got some bounces tonight that you won’t get every night.”
Henrik Lundqvist told the NY Times, “I think we got more ugly goals in the last two games than we’ve had in the past season.”
John Tortorella said on MSG that the Rangers found a way last night and certainly haven’t had many nights where the majority of the bounces went their way.
Tortorella also said that even before the Rangers got their goals in the first period last night, their start was better. That the team looked quicker and more aware.
Lundqvist said on MSG that this was a “different” type of game that was sloppy at times and not always the easiest to focus on all of the small details.
In general, Tortorella said of the past two games where the Rangers scored 14 goals “It’s two important wins. This was a game in hand. You win a game, get some goals, it helps the confidence.”
