On Thursday against the Islanders, the Rangers only had one forward, Derek Stepan, play over 20 minutes.
Arron Asham only played 6:10, but Darroll Powe and Jeff Halpern both played over 10 minutes.
Taylor Pyatt, Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik played between 13 and 16 minutes.
John Tortorella said yesterday that he felt rolling four lines was the best way to approach the game on Thursday, “I wanted to play four lines last night for energy purposes. I still don’t think we are playing with enough energy. With the combos that I had, I felt comfortable doing that. We are still trying to find that right mix. I still think we need more tempo in our game.”
