In the Rangers first seven games, they were shorthanded a total of 36 times including once seven times, twice six times and twice five times.
Last night the Rangers were only shorthanded once and on Hockey Night Live, Ken Daneyko said that a big reason for that, and the Rangers overall game, was the appearance of a flow and cohesiveness amongst the players, “they were moving their feet they were supporting each other. That was a big difference in the game, they had some cohesiveness.”
Rick Nash said on HNL that being disciplined was a big key for the team heading into last night.
John Tortorella said on the post game show last night, “we were more disciplined. I thought our line changes were better. We talked about that. Those little things add up to give you a fair shake to win a hockey game.”
