According to the NY Post, the coach of NYU’s club hockey team, Chris Consentino is running the Rangers informal practices this week.
Until the CBA is ratified and the lockout is officially lifted, the coaches are not allowed to have any contact with the players.
The Post says that Consentino had the Rangers running an “intense conditioning drill” for the last 20 minutes of practice. The drill saw the players skating around both nets repeatedly.
Ryan McDonagh told the paper that it felt a lot like a Rangers practice, “Not a lot of time between drills and high intensity.”
During the lockout, John Tortorella visited and spoke with the NYU Hockey team.
