Note: The Two Things The Rangers Did Last Night That They Hadn’t Done In A Week

Last night against the Devils, the Rangers scored the first only the 11th time this season.

The Rangers are 8-2-1 when they score first and this was the first time they had scored first since last Tuesday in their loss to Buffalo.

Before the game against the Sabres, the Rangers had gone three straight without scoring the first goal.

The Rangers are 6-0-1 when leading after 1 and 8-0-0 when leading after two periods.

Henrik Lundqvist said on the post game show last night, “we have been good all year when we have the lead. The problem is, we haven’t had it that much.”

Last night was also the Rangers first multiple-goal game since they defeated the Capitals in Washington two Sundays ago.

Michael Del Zotto said on the post game show, “we scored more than one goal and that is always a good thing. We found a way to compose ourselves.”

Marian Gaborik told the NY Post, “we created chances and finally scored more than one goal. This win was a real team win, everyone contributed. With New Jersey, the games are always tight.”
