Marian Gaborik, while talking with Kenny Albert and Dave Maloney on ESPN Radio said, “We needed this win. This was a much needed win.”

Brad Richards told the NY Times,  “I can’t tell you how much we wanted that win. We didn’t like the feeling of not having a win, and things mounting around it.”

Dave Maloney was impressed by how the Rangers played and remarked, on ESPN Radio, “there is still enough of that stuff around that worked from last year.”

In the post game, John Tortorella said that it was good to get the first one out of the way, “we find a way to win a hockey game. Is everything running on all cylinders, No, we have a lot of things we need to do so we will keep working on it. It was nice to stop the bleeding tonight. We needed to win. I thought we handled some of their surges, or at least we didn’t break/didn’t give.”
