2PM: As Carp from Rangers Report points out, the Flyers started off the 95 season with three straight losses.
They then went 28-13-4 to finish out the season and finish first in the Atlantic.
The Rangers started the season 2-5 and went on a seven game losing streak in games 26 through 32 before finishing the season 22-23-3 and finishing in eighth place.
8:07AM: According to Jeff Klein in the NY Times, during the 48 game season in 1995, no team that lost three straight games to start the season made the playoffs.
Brad Richards told the Times that this isn’t ideal, “You don’t want to do that anyway in an 82-game season, but with only 46 games left, it’s got to be corrected quickly.”
The Rangers, Flyers and Coyotes have all started with two straight losses. Vancouver is 0-1-1 to start the season.
