Read: What Tonight Means For A Player

Following the Rangers win over the Caps yesterday, John Tortorella was asked about the playoffs and game sevens.

Tortorella said, “The regular season crap means nothing. You make your legacy as a player in these type of situations. A number of our guys last year had a blast playing in these games. Some guys handle it, some guys don’t. I don’t want to use “this is what you play for” but that’s what you play for, to get yourself into this type of situation and see what type of character you have as a player and as a team.”

He added that he thinks the two game sevens the Rangers went through last year will help them and he hopes that the experience is able to be passed on to the players without game seven experience.
