Costello has the teams in the following order: Penguins, Bruins, Capitals. Flyers, Rangers, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Carolina.
Last season the Rangers finished ONE point ahead of the Penguins in the Atlantic Division and pushed the Penguins to the fourth seed.
The fifth seeded Flyers had 103 points while the sixth seeded Devils had 102.
Adam Rotter: While I think it’s too early to get a good grasp on how teams will finish in the East, as most are still forming their roster, it’s this kind of bunch with three Atlantic teams in the top five that I expect to see. It’s gonna be a tight race for seeding a likely 4-5 matchup between two Atlantic teams again.
