Read: Where The Situation Stands Today

This morning, Darren Dreger tweeted that there is talk that in NHL circles that ranges from potential deals to dectertification which would essentially cancel the season.

Dreger also thinks that the players filing a disclaimer of interest would also cancel the season even though, as Nick Cotsonika points out, that is what pushed the NBA towards making a deal last season.

In response to the NBA argument, Dreger says that the NBAPA filed it’s disclaimer earlier in the process and the players agreed to 4 year contracts and 5 year contracts for teams re-signing their own players.

John Shannon says that the two sides will talk today on a conference call about one specific topic.
