In the Montreal Gazette, Jack Todd writes that the only thing left for the NHL is to shut the season down and contract six teams and then come back with a new commissioner.
He says of Gary Bettman, “If the deal you killed a season to get was so bad that you had to kill another entire season to get a different deal, then I’m sorry, but you’re an idiot. If the owners have a shred of intestinal fortitude, they’ll tell Bettman not to let the door hit him on the way out.”
Earlier in the lockout, Ian White of the Red Wings said “I gotta be honest: I personally think he’s an idiot. Since he’s come in, I think he’s done nothing but damage the game.”
